This guide is built from the official site, Steam and store listings. Advice about priorities is editorial judgment, not a measured test; confirmed systems are described as such.
The setup
Japan, year 20██. Anomaly Zones appear without warning, and gravity, corridors, and shopping streets stop behaving. Reona Minazuki, seventeen, becomes a Diver for the government-backed Anomaly Zone Countermeasures Office to find a friend who vanished inside one.
On her first Dive, other Divers die. Something wakes up in Reona, and she is the one who walks back out. That is all the official site gives, and it is enough to explain why the game is a solo descent rather than a squad story: the survivor is the protagonist because everyone else did not survive.
Reona and Arisa: the axis
Reona escaped a bad home and lived on the streets, where she met Arisa Kato. Arisa attends Koin Girls' Academy. Their lives had nothing in common except that they were comfortable with each other, and that was enough to make Arisa her only real friend.
A trip to a mall turned into an Anomaly Zone and separated them. Reona survived thanks to something the official site redacts, and then went back in on purpose. Arisa is still listed as missing. Everything Reona does points at that one absence, which makes her a protagonist defined by a question rather than a goal. Notice what the site does not say: whether Arisa is alive, where she went, or what the redacted thing was.
The Office: four staff
Kyoka Sudo founded the Office and runs it. She is described as calm to the point of pure rationality, and she climbed from disposable Diver to chief after surviving a long stretch inside a Zone on her own.
Yuiga Koda is the voice on the radio. Injured on her own first Dive, she now supports Reona from the other side of the headset as her partner.
Imari Fushimi runs research, developing equipment from anomalous materials, cheerfully, while knowing the work is bad for her body. May Hibiya runs security. She was an elite Diver before she was put in charge of secrets and storage. Four jobs, four different relationships to the same danger: command, support, curiosity, and containment.
Kaede and the Girl
Kaede Mori has no listed affiliation. The official profile says only that Reona met her during a Dive, which is the whole of what the site is willing to say.
The Girl has no listed name and no credited voice. She was with Reona and Arisa in the mall, and stopped speaking after Anomalies killed her parents in front of her. Neither she nor Kaede is given a role to play yet. Between the two of them, the site has two characters it refuses to explain, which is a deliberate shape rather than an oversight.
Where the writing actually lives
Side missions are the character layer. The official description says they cover backgrounds and relationships in more detail than the main line does, and they unlock as the story progresses. That is where a supporting cast stops being a list of job titles.
Dive Reports are the other half: defeat an Anomaly, unlock a write-up on how it lives. Enemy ecology and human relationships sit on the same shelf, and together they are the game archive. Reading both is the difference between knowing the names and knowing the people.
How to read the Office
Watch what the Office asks of Reona and what it gives her. Kyoka's own history is a Diver who was expendable and became indispensable, which is a useful lens for every order she gives. A chief described that way will treat a 17-year-old with a unique power as either an asset or a person, and the story is in which one she chooses on any given day.
Everything here stays inside what the official site and store pages publish. Where the profiles stop, the game has not spoken yet.
